New Reproductive Technologies: Concerns of Feminists and ResearchersSchool of Social Welfare, State University of New York at Stony Brook This article reviews six major concerns in the feminist literature about the new reproductive technologies: (1) risks to women's health, (2) threats to women's reproductive rights and options, (3) discriminatory costs and benefits, (4) the expense of the procedures and their potential to funnel scarce resources from other pressing health and social needs, (5) issues related to prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy, and (6) the minimal involvement of women in policy debates. The article also suggests some areas in which further research is necessary.
