Victim: Family Systems and Feminist PerspectivesVictoria Cancer Clinic, Cancer Control Agency of British Columbia, Victoria, British Columbia This article considers the concept of victim from two conceptual frameworks: the family systems perspective and the feminist perspective. It discusses the values that inform family systems and feminist practice, the definition and use of the concept of victim in treatment in these two perspectives, and whether the two frameworks can be integrated. The literature on feminism in family practice is reviewed, and the implications for research and policy development are presented.
