FemSchool: A Work in Progress

The FemSchool '95 Writing Circle

The Women's Community for Feminist Social Work—"FemSchool" for short—is a participatory event, organized by the FemSchool Collective of the Association for Women in Social Work (AWSW) and held each summer. This article was written collaboratively by a diverse group of participants at FemSchool'95 to describe the components of the program and the process of the gathering. To reflect the process in the product, the material is presented in the form of participants' journals and letters, which incorporate information from pregathering questionnaires and postgathering evaluations of the 1994 and 1995 events.
